This is a nice looking bench. All that had to be done to assemble was to screw in the legs…..SO easy. The fabric is a boucle with a nubby texture. The gray color is very pretty. The lid doesn’t open all the way up which could be an issue if you have something larger to put in it. But for the most part, it’s perfect for blanket storage etc. The lid does stay open when the hinges are locked making it easy to grab things from inside. Pleased with ordering this cute bench, which we are using for a coffee table/ottoman. The rattan material adds a retro flair, and the shelf is nice to put a few books on. I like that the shelf storage goes all the way to the ends of the bench so you can hide small things there. The padded bench is fairly firm, but fine for our needs. There was a scuffed area on one end of the rattan where some of the stain had been chipped off so it appears lighter, but will likely use a marker to blend it in.
