I was looking for solid wood bookcases but didnt want to spend a fortune. I came across these and thought theyd make for an interesting bookcase. Very versatile. Can arrange anyway you want. I split them up on either side of my chair. My own relaxing nook that Ive always wanted. I was even able to turn one around the corner of the wall and stack the top one to maximize space on the top of the bottom ones. Easy to assemble and seem sturdy enough so far. One of the boards came missing the threaded inserts for the screws but the company promptly sent me a replacement. I added shelf baskets to maximize the space even more (I have too many books) and it worked out great. I need to get more baskets and then Ill be able to fit all my books really well.. Jaime. I bought two and put them on either end of a tv shelf unit, floating. I have a very tiny space so I installed to the long entry hall. I use it to paint and with the addition of baskets use to store art supplies These bookshelves work well the 9 inch depth lets them fit easily in the hall spaces. This is a fantastic book shelf. Solid, heavy wood construction and a beautiful finish. A few spots have mars in the finish, but they disappear when looking at the shelf from across the room. There were a few scratches that a furniture stick needed to be applied to, but I’m not sure if they happened during manufacture or our construction. The assembly was simple with the instructions provided. The only error in the instructions was regarding the type of screw driver to use. The wall anchor that came with the shelf was very flimsy, so we installed a sturdier more trusting anchor. The shelving unit did have a odor for a week after assembly. I didn’t like the color of the screw caps that were supplied so I have not used them; additionally they didn’t fit firmly in place. The bottom drawers slide in and out smoothly. The ClosetMaid 13” storage bins I bought to use with the shelf were too wide for each opening. When I trimmed a quarter inch of the insert in the bottom of the bin, I could get the bin to snugly fit in the shelf openings. I won’t be accessing what I stored in the bins often, so I’m happy with the ClosetMaid storage bins. I am well pleased with the storage capacity and look of this shelving unit. It looks modern, is designed well, and most important is made from real wood.
