Our classic trash can combines quality construction with modern styling for your kitchen or office. A satin finish suits any decor, and the tall, narrow shape fits easily into a small space. Dispose of trash hands-free with the convenient step pedal.

I wonder why I lived so long with an unfunctional, sloppy plastic kitchen trash can whose step-open function had broken within months of purchase. THIS TRASH CAN IS GREAT. It is heavy enough not to move around, neat and efficient. It has a plastic insert which can be removed for cleaning. The step function with soft-close is a great feature. I ordered and received it in light green powder coat, not black as in this review title, and the finish is a beautiful soft green which is easy to clean. The rectangular stainless-steel can with removable liner bin fits any brand of 13-gallon trash bags. Its convenient design allows it to be placed right against a wall or cabinet, and the fingerprint-resistant finish keeps it clean longer.

We are obsessed with this trash can! So easy, so functional, and really pretty too. The only thing, and almost worth a star, is that we don’t understand why the back isn’t fully flat. The battery of the lid juts out in back, and there is all this extra space behind where the bag and inner compartment rests. Even if the battery pack needs to jut out, they could still easily shave an inch off the depth of this given all the extra space, which would make this even more attractive and perfect. We love it though, just be prepared to know it doesn’t sit fully flush against its backside. If they “fixed” this design element, we’d 100 go buy that model immediately and give it six stars.. Nina. Sheffield, MA. Thu Oct 08 2026

Brabantia’s NewIcon step can, 7.9 gallons (30L) has an iconic design and is a reliable worker too. Sturdy, and always stands strong because of its non-slip base and anti-tilting block. Thanks to the unique soft-closure feature, it closes smoothly. And of course, this NewIcon step trash can is hygienic, odor-proof, easy to open, and clean. Perfect for your kitchen or any other room that could use 8 gallons of timeless design.

I searched carefully for a trashcan that would both look good in the kitchen and be the right size for a small household (1- 2 people). This one is perfect. I chose platinum because I didn’t want it to be too shiny. It’s tall enough (26 inches) to hold a 13 gal., tall kitchen trash bag, but narrow enough (11.5 inch diameter) that I can still open my cabinets. (See photos.) The capacity is only 8 gallons, but if the bag has a drawstring, it’s easy to make a 13-gal. gal bag fit well. It comes with three 8-gal. bags, but I like to use bigger bags so that I can add other trash to it before I take it out.. Dee. IL. Thu Jul 02 2026
