I bought this to store my pens, markers, and map pencils in. I am sooooo pleased I did because if I bought a "pencil pouch" it would've been full of fragments of the pencils & spill all inside my backpack, but since this is a box, that does not happen. Although the chips of the pencils still collect at the bottom nothing a little water can't fix, unlike how those cloth or fabric "pencil pouches" can't be rinsed out unless you dry them, and afterward they just feel strange. They are great for storing items that either don’t need a large tote or where a large tote will not fit. I am currently using one for storing my 16.9 ounce water bottles. It works well for this and will hold 20-24 bottles. The lids fit securely and even when loaded heavy the storage bins feel strong and well made. I love that they are stackable because I am always needing to reduce storage floor space. They seem to stack well but I still try to put heavier items on bottom and lighter on top.
