The trunk is as it looks. Hinges seem strong but even if they weren't, the wood is so light that it wouldn't hurt fingers. If you are looking for a solid piece of furniture, this isn't it. 77 on sale and all it fits is 1 Cali king comforter . It’s as described and pictured but doesn’t pack the punch we were hoping for, like maybe 2 comforters or 1 comforter and several sheet sets but nope.
