Very nice chest, however it is not perfectly level on the floor. Also, it arrived with several deep cracks in the wood on the lid, and Wayfair was unable to send me a replacement lid. This is an absolutely beautiful piece of furniture. However, the chest came with damage to the hinge. My husband had to go out and buy new screws (because the original ones were too short) and bend the hinge back in shape before inserting the screws. Wayfair gave me a 20% discount because of the damage, which I consider good customer service. But there was another issue which I did not report to Wayfair because I was not aware of the issue at the time. The lid will not open all the way. The hinge is strong and the lid will stay open-but only about 3/4 of the way. I was able to get my stuff in the chest, but I have to bend down to the floor to get stuff out, but I have to pull it out at an angle instead of straight up. Again, my husband is going to try and adjust the hinges so that I can open it more. That said, the chest is gorgeous, but because of the hinge/lid issue-it is not worth the full asking price.. This Jumbo Trunk Bench Posse is 100% hand crafted with solid wood and has a unique hand tooled design in genuine saddle leather. This Trunk Bench would be a striking decorative addition to your living room or bedroom decor but also has ample space. It has a convenient latch closure and is portable thanks to two side handles.

I think the quality of this trunk/bench and the workmanship is extraordinary. I love the leather work and detail. Unlike other decorative trunks I have seen that seem very fragile this one is sturdy and useful even as a bench if desired. I personally use it to store couch pillows and throws for convenience in the living room. The trunk came packaged very well and protected and is flawless. Although the web site says assembly required there was no assembly required at all. The end handles on mine seem to be more rounded than the web picture shows but I don't have a preference in the shape. The trunk top is very well firmly padded if it were to be used as a bench but I don't intend on using it as a bench.
