Akamban artisans who traditionally work with wood have been retrained to use collected factory discarded flip flop rubber to create unique works of art. Using these materials fosters environmental sustainability by reducing the need for landfills and provides a continuous source of income for the artisans and their families. As each piece is a completely unique layering of multicolored recycled rubber, differences in color will occur.
