This storage basket is crafted using traditional coil weaving methods updated with salvaged plastic. Wolof women in Senegal entwine natural fiber coils with purple strips of plastic, sourced from a local prayer mat factory. Cattails, abundant in rural Senegal, provide a sustainable material for weaving, supporting the artisans' income. The basket features a classic design with cutout handles and a flat lid that fits securely. Each piece is handcrafted and will exhibit slight variations.
