The Sofie Side Chair by Sika Design brings a modern outlook to the classic Parisian bistro chair. Designed for use indoors, each chair is handmade using the finest quality Malacca cane rattan with a colorful, classically woven ArtFibre™ back, arms, and seat. This dyed polyethylene material stretches for comfortable seating and maintains its shape even with constant use. Indonesian cane artisans use a century-old bending process that creates “stretch” marks on the rattan, lending to the authentic craftsmanship and originality of each piece. The Sofie side chair imparts French charm while bringing enduring comfort and durability to commercial and residential dining spaces.

These rattan chairs are just as described and very comfortable, excellent quality, made in Indonesia, and the french bistro look I was going for. These need to be brought in during inclement weather or fully covered. They will go in my basement around a round black bistro table during the winter months. The only gripe is the feet are not level however I believe they can be adjusted. Happy with purchase.. Monique. Ottawa, ON. Wed May 06 2026
