ALTHROP® has been developed and engineered to obtain the best nonskid performance for a rug pad. The product is made of two different polyester fibers needle-punched together and coated, on both sides, with a specially formulated water-based, pressure-sensitive dry adhesive that will outperform pads coated with a plain polymeric-acrylic resin.  ALTHROPs two components, containing 12 ounces of fiber per square yard, gives the pad enough body and density to resist the horizontal movement that creates the buckling effect of the underlay under the rug.

Protect Your Flooring - In addition to helping prevent trip hazards accidentally caused by a heel of a shoe catching on the edge of the rug, rug pads sized slightly smaller also slow the premature wear and curling at the rug’s edge as it is walked on. Other benefits of a rug pad include noise absorption, easier vacuuming, and an added layer of comfort between your feet and the hard floor beneath. Our Suregrip rug pad makes vacuuming easier, protects floor surfaces, and provides extra cushioning and comfort. Can be cut at home to custom fit any rug. Ideally, the rug pad should be cut approximately 1-2 inches short of the rug perimeter. Your rug pad dimensions will be a few inches shorter than the size of the area rug. This is NOT a defect nor is it the wrong item, the rug pads are made this way to avoid causing the rug to have a lip which would get in the way of walking, a door opening etc.
