How welcoming indeed! It's a perfect size. Also, I have been searching for a good outdoor mat, but aside from super colorful and kitsch designs or holiday-themed signs, it's often difficult to find mats that are both basic but interesting. They are usually super loud and colorful or just plain tan and a bit dull. This one has the 'Welcome' text and it's cool that it has that traditional straw-colored portion on the mat to be reminiscent of a generic one, but then the plaid really pops and looks really different. It also is perfect for Fall, without actually explicitly having pumpkins or leaves drawn on it. I honestly think this may be something I buy again each year. One warning, this is probably only for medium wear - the material is a bit flexible and although the mat itself is sturdy, it's not one of those super stiff and thick mats, so it is most likely best put outside a door that sees moderate 'traffic'..
