Made with the richest hand-knotted silk, this 4x5 modern rug is a regal, exceptional addition to Rug & Kilim’s Modern Classics Collection—a luxurious reimagining of historic designs, like this piece’s homage to vintage and antique Samarkand rugs.On the Design: A warm and luminous gold tone underscores the field and border, where the keen eye will further note accents in light green, cream-white, and ochre tones among the many gorgeous subtleties of this rug’s inviting colorway. The design embodies a minimalist elegance, yet keen observers will recognize inspiration drawn from traditional textiles celebrated for their dense, deftly woven motifs, like the very architectural floral patterns at play here (which admirers of the craft may recognize as a celebrated repeat in Samarkand carpets). The repeating patterns evoke the craftsmanship found in historic designs, offering a modern reinterpretation of classic aesthetics with a refined color palette that enhances its timeless appeal. Crafted entirely from luxurious silk, this textile captures a subtle, luminous sheen that amplifies the interplay of light and color across its surface.
