Hand-knotted in wool, this 3x12 runner rug is a masterful addition to Rug & Kilim’s Distressed Homage Collection. Inspired by the archaic beauty of a vintage Turkish rug, this piece functions as a sophisticated bridge between ancient Oriental symbolism and contemporary interior design. On the Design:This runner rug draws its primary inspiration from the "Chintamani" pattern—one of the most interesting and powerful archaic motifs in the history of Oriental rugs. This modern interpretation honors the celebrated Hindu and Buddhist motif commonly seen on Indian and Tibetan rugs, featuring a rhythmic repeat of three balls above wavy lines. It represents a fabulous play of traditional design and a mid-century modern air, rendered in a muted tobacco-brown and cream palette that has vast applications.Admirers of the craft will appreciate the pattern as a celebratory symbol of power and protection, underscored by a distressed construction that lends the piece an authentic, weathered patina. The way these organic forms interact with the dark, earthy ground creates a mesmerizing sense of movement and "quiet" luxury. It is a smart, intentional contribution to the collection—offering a design-forward language that honors the experimental spirit of Turkish weaving traditions for today’s high-end spaces.Custom Capable:All sizes and colors available—inquire for a quote.
