Rug & Kilim's Contemporary Dhurrie In Geometric Patterns

This 9x12 contemporary Dhurrie rug is an exciting new curation from Rug & Kilim’s latest acquisition of new flatweaves—handwoven in cotton in India. On the Design: Admirers of the craft will note this piece as an exemplar of contemporary interpretations of Indian Dhurrie flatweaves. Alternating cream and blue octagons create a mesmerizing checkerboard pattern. The design's beauty emerges through the precise placement of these patterns, each separated by delicate cruciform motifs in teal that serve as both connective tissue and decorative accent. One of the many beauties that distinguishes this Dhurrie from other contemporary Indian rugs and flatweaves is its particular minimalist style—an exemplary use of few colors and repetitive patterns in an outstanding versatile size that achieves the quintessential look so sought after in this provenance. It’s a simple, yet sophisticated work of its kind that speaks to both traditional Indian textile arts and modernist design principles. inquire for a quote.
