This 3x5 rug is a new and exciting gift-sized addition to Rug & Kilim’s European rug collection, affectionately dubbed “Bilbao” for its inspiration from vintage and antique Spanish rugs of such elegant 19th-century sensibilities; made with a luxurious blend of hand-knotted in wool and silk in our finest Nepalese pile qualities.
The underlying field and border color is beige-brown, with the most impossibly subtle hints of pista-green tones, all underscoring finely detailed floral patterns in gold, red, and silver tones. Admirers of the craft and keen eyes will especially appreciate the luxe, natural sheen the silk lends this piece, and its natural, yet elegant complement to both the sense of movement and the rug’s overall play of the light in any space. Enjoying both the durability and quality of a modern rug and the idyllic, artisanal nature of Spanish floral art, this edition of the Bilbao series exemplifies the European rug collection’s achievements in scale, graph, and refinement lending to the most graceful rugs with vast design applications today.
