Made with a special blend of hand-knotted Ghazni wool, this contemporary rug from Rug & Kilim's custom-classics Burano Collection is inspired by a historic turn-of-the-18th-century Konya rug design preserved by the Ibrahim Pasa Museum in Istanbul. On the Design: Admirers of the craft may note the kufic writing in this design, alongside several vibrant geometric patterns underscored by rich blue, beige/brown, green and white/cream tones. Keen eyes for the tactile will further admire an especially soft, comfortable texture and beauty inherent to the Ghazni wool that underscores this piece. It’s an intentional contribution to a classic for a more contemporary level of comfort, and one of the many beauties that makes this collection a sophisticated, smart new language in design.
