Clean spills immediately by blotting them with a clean sponge or cloth. Rinse with water from a garden hose. Lift off the ground to dry thoroughly. A rug pad is recommended for carpet and hard surfaces both indoors and outdoors. For vacuuming, use a vacuum cleaner without a beater bar or one where you can set the bar to the highest pile setting. If your vacuum has variable power settings, set it on low. Vacuum the full length of the rug, turn, and repeat to the next area, rather than back and forth motion.
