This is a beautiful Gray Color Kilim design Hand Woven, Flat Weave Oriental 100% Silk Rug. Story Behind the Art Bold, distinctive patterns; brilliant colors; affordability-these are some of the characteristics that explain the overwhelming popularity of the exquisite, flatwoven textiles from the Near and Far East known as kilims. Kilim designs are made by interweaving the variously colored wefts and warps, thus creating what is known as a flatweave. Kilim patterns are created by winding the weft threads, which are colored, backwards and forwards around pairs of warp threads. The motifs on kilims woven in this way are constrained to be somewhat angular and geometric. Kilims are prized by collectors for the crispness of their decoration. Made by skilled craftsman, the rug is a beautiful symphony of bold motifs, stunning colors and consummate artisanship. This rug representing an illustrious legacy of exquisite artistry and the intricate craftsmanship is primed to add visual glamor and class to its surroundings. Its soft texture and timeless design make it ideal to enhance any space where it is placed.
