Large Italian Tapestry 49136, circa date: Late 20th Century. Rich with stunning detail, this Italian tapestry sprawls across a wide space, stitched with meticulous craftsmanship and lovely antique gold tones. A forest filled with bare trees, leafless and prepared for winter whiteness, displays a procession of hunters. Dogs lunging on the leash are paired with men, both mounted and on foot, all ranging between the brush and bark in pursuit of a young buck, positioned in the middle of a hurried leap. In mystical, pale tones, a towering castle in the background promises warmth and home after the success of the hunt. A single elaborate border with bronze scroll-work surrounds the scene in this Italian masterpiece, completing the opulent wall tapestry.
