The graceful lines and beautiful rug colors of this antique Persian Heriz Serapi rug evoke the feeling of strolling through a moon kissed palace garden in full bloom at midnight. This magnificent antique Persian rug was woven around the turn of the 20th century and has stood the test of time, lending its play on formality vs casualness to the room, yet managing to retain a distinctly visual quality.
This captivating antique rug uses a central motif design that highlights the horizontal motifs more so than the vertical. This makes the antique Persian Heriz rug appear to be wider than it is long, but this is only an optical illusion that was created by the placement of the floral motifs. The colors of the antique Persian Serapi rug are blended in a way that makes them appear to be almost metallic. The Persian colors of the blues are reminiscent of silver and the browns are reminiscent of copper, bronze, or pink gold. This gives the antique Rust background Persian Heriz Serapi rug a luminescence that stands out against the midnight blue background in spectacular high-contrast.
The design of the antique room size rug is based on balance that uses horizontal and vertical symmetry to create the feeling of a formal palace garden. The border of the rug has the same metallic feel and is proportioned in a way that makes it appear to be a metallic frame that supports the central design of the blue background colored antique Persian Heriz Serapi carpet.
Once does not need to be a great antique carpet expert to understand that this is a spectacular piece in both color and design. It would make an excellent addition to any home decor and space where it sparks the imagination and will become a time honored treasure for future
