The prominence of the nation’s capital metropolis is reflected in the sturdy body of the Georgetown, while its classical oval shape features updated embellishments with a streamlined base and subtle rim. The Georgetown embodies a modern-day Washington D.C., representing the elegance of tradition with contemporary style. The Jefferson Memorial was built between 1939 and 1943 under the sponsorship of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Situated along the shore of the Potomac River, the neoclassical memorial is a pantheon-inspired structure constructed from marble. From its circular dome to the inscribed excerpts from the Declaration of Independence, the Jefferson Memorial continues to move its many visitors as a suitably iconic tribute to the Founding Fathers of the United States.
