The Antique Textile Chinese Knotted Rug is a rare example of late 19th-century textile art, originally crafted in the 1890s. This hand-knotted wool piece features a dynamic narrative scene, likely depicting a historical or mythological battle or hunt. Rendered in stylized cream and tan tones with subtle red accents against a pale blue ground, the composition includes detailed imagery of figures, clouds, and rolling hills. While traditionally used as a wall hanging, this square rug showcases an Oriental and geometric pattern rooted in East Asian design principles. Its 0.5-inch pile height and small scatter size format make it an adaptable addition to curated interior spaces. This multicolored textile from China offers remarkable texture and depth, transforming a classic narrative into a dramatic piece of art.
