The Antique Ningxia Chinese Geometric Knotted Rug is an exceptional late Qing Dynasty piece dating back to the 1890s. Hand-knotted from wool, this rectangular rug features a restrained elegance with a centralized layout typical of courtly Chinese textiles. The composition showcases a striking contrast between deep indigo borders and a luminous ivory ground. Four large, stylized medallions in blue and tan anchor the vertical axis, accented by delicate coral-colored blossoms. The design incorporates complex geometric matrices, interlocking meander patterns, and stylized cloud bands that reflect traditional iconography. With a 0.5-inch pile height and a soft, pliable handle, this small scatter-sized rug provides a powerful historical statement. It is perfectly suited for display, offering sophisticated style without dominating your living space.
