Antique Mongolian Chinese Allover Geometric Knotted Rug

The Antique Mongolian Chinese Allover Geometric Knotted Rug is an exceptional example of nomadic weaving traditions from the 1860s. This hand-knotted wool rug features a highly structured, compartmentalized field influenced by the late Qing Dynasty. Its allover pattern is organized into a precise grid of alternating squares, showcasing camel brown motifs and stylized white flowers against a striking blue ground. The design utilizes traditional Chinese symbolism and robust Mongolian knotting techniques to create visual depth. Rendered in warm earth tones on a luminous ivory background, the rug is framed by a triple border system with a bold interlocking meander pattern. With a 0.5-inch pile height, this rectangular room-size centerpiece offers historical significance and a sophisticated decorative presence for any interior.
