Antique Artistic Five Clawed Chinese Dragons Room Size Ningxia Rug

The Antique Artistic Five Clawed Chinese Dragons Room Size Ningxia Rug is an exceptional example of early 20th-century Chinese weaving from the 1930s. Hand-knotted from wool, this rectangular rug features a luminous ivory ground that provides a striking contrast to deep cobalt blue figures. The design showcases a central medallion and spandrels with five intricately rendered dragons, traditional symbols of power and good fortune, set amidst stylized clouds and mystical pearls. The composition follows a precise geometric pattern characteristic of the sophisticated Ningxia style. A complex border system utilizes varying shades of indigo and azure in an architectural framework with a bold wave-like outer guard band. With a 0.5-inch pile height, this substantial room-sized piece is designed to anchor formal spaces with historical depth and decorative sophistication.
