The Antique Small Size Square Shape Mid 19th Century Chinese Ningxia Rug is an exceptional wool piece from the Qing Dynasty, dating to the 1840s. Hand-knotted with natural dyes, this rug features a sophisticated Chinese Yellow field with variegated gold, orange, and yellow tones. The allover design showcases stylized floral rosettes rendered in a high-low pile to create textural depth. A multi-layered border in deep indigo frames the composition, highlighting a classic Greek Key motif in gold and light blue. Its compact square format and 0.5-inch pile height make it an ideal scatter size accent for refined entryways or beneath small occasional tables. This rug represents a fine example of regional Chinese weaving traditions with excellent preservation and saturated coloration.
