This Square Vintage Mid Century Modern Spanish Abstract Expressionist Art Rug is an extraordinary floor covering that functions as a definitive artistic statement. Expertly hand-knotted from high-quality European wool, this piece features a bold, abstract composition reminiscent of mid-century modern painting. The design showcases an energetic interplay of thick, gestural brushstrokes in charcoal and deep black layered over a luminous ivory, tan, and white ground. Originating from Spain and dating back to the 1970s, this vintage rug captures the era's fascination with large-format graphic design and painterly textiles. With a 0.5-inch pile height, the textured wool enhances the depth and movement of the geometric markings. This substantial room-sized rug is perfectly suited to define a contemporary living space or gallery setting with its unique artistic merit and sophisticated neutrality.
