Approximate dimensions. Height: 4" (excluding 3/8" glide). Top width: 3-1/4". Distance from hanger bolt to edge of leg: 1-5/8". Bottom width: 1". Material type: Hardwood. Please consider the "distance from the hanger bolt to the edge of the leg". If you do not wish the sofa leg to protrude from under your furniture item, please ensure the "distance from hanger bolt to the edge of the leg" does not exceed the distance from your hanger bolt attachment point to the edge of your sofa. Our sofa legs are not just for the sofa. Your entire sofa, chair, ottoman, and other furniture pieces rest on the leg. If the leg is loose or defective, the result can be uncomfortable. Defective legs can lead to structural damage to the furniture because of uneven stress loads being placed on the frame. The well-being of your furniture needs to keep the legs in good repair. Even if your legs are still in good condition, you may wish to add new legs for function or appearance's sake. Purchasing taller legs than those that are presently installed will raise the height of the furniture from the floor, and of course, shorter legs will lower the height. An easy cost, effective way to alter the style of your furniture is with the installation of new legs. Each leg is installed with a hanger bolt and is easy to remove and attach. The leg is simply turned to the left to remove and to the right to install. Choosing the correct hanger bolt size is vital to ensure a correct fit. There are three available sizes of hanger bolts. Please carefully check the hanger bolt size on your present leg to ensure that your new legs will be compatible. The 5/16" bolt is the most common size, especially in American-made furniture. M8 (8mm) bolts are typically seen on Swedish furniture, as well as some other imported items. M10 (10mm) is seen on other European imports, especially those from Italy. You can reference the images for the difference between the 5/16" and M10 bolts. 5/16" and M8 look almost the same, with the difference being the type of thread. Be sure to check the fit with a bolt or nut, and not just with a tape measure or ruler. The three sizes of hanger bolts are not cross-compatible, so please check carefully before ordering. If you are uncertain which size hanger bolt you need, please call for assistance. We also offer a hanger bolt fit test kit that provides you the opportunity to test an actual 5/16", metric M8 hanger bolt, and a metric M10 hanger bolt to determine which fits your needs. Please note that wood grows in a forest in the form of trees; it is not manufactured in a factory like plastic. As a result, every leg is unique with naturally occurring variations in color, texture, and grain pattern. These distinguishing features contribute highly to why wood is sought after as a material for sofa legs and fine furniture. Because wood is a natural material, each may differ slightly from the photographic representation shown on the website.
