This Metal yard kennel with doors is made very well. Instructions were a bit confusing so I took off one star for that. There is a so many pieces to this. It took an entire afternoon to put together. Nice quality kennel although I used mine for my Junior chickens to give them a bigger run. The base was easy to assemble. Attaching the mesh wire is definitely a two person job and I highly recommend using leather gloves as there are lots of sharp edges on the mesh for you to get cut. We are hobby breeders and this floor was just what we were looking for to keep our puppies off the ground and safe when they are outside to play. We don’t have them fully installed in the second picture and in the first we have them fully installed but have a a ramp for the puppies to get in and out of their play building easily, and turf for them to potty on, over the top of the floors. But it’s great quality, strong, and it prevents animals from digging out of a kennel or digging period. It was a little tricky for some of the pieces to snap together since the ground we put it on wasn’t completely level. If using over concrete or a 100 level surface I imagine it would be a breeze. The floor is easy to clean and disinfect. It does tend to get scalding hot if in direct sun and temps over 80-85 degrees. But if shaded or cooler temps it’s perfect. Nothing that an awning or sun shade can’t fix. I’ve been looking into raised floors for a while but couldn’t justify the cost, but am happy I finally chose to do it. I would give these a 4.5 star rating. If it were easier to put together on slightly unlevel surfaces, and not so hot in direct sun, it would have earned a perfect 5 star rating!. Janell. Couldnt come in more pieces. Its a project, a rather long one. Id advise using a drill that has a torque function and hex bits to put it together. Using the supplied Allen wrenches sounds like a nightmare. That being said once its together its solid enough. Better than using cheap chain link and zip ties. As I plan on a few years of use (through winters) like anything Im going to throw a few cans of spray enamel at it now thats its up, and yeah, A better slide lock for the door. For my one dog it’s not the best due to she’s destructive and broke out of it twice already. The door needs more latches and stuff to secure it cause she just pushes and moves it and gets right out. My other dog is doing great and thriving in the dog run with no issues.. Anonymous. Fri Aug 29 2025
