He quickly explored the inside and outside of the cage, treats and water from the new bowls and perch, and enjoyed sittling like a king on the perch stretched in the Victorian top opening. This cage is large and durable. Assembly was a bit complicated as a few pieces were mislabeled, but after process of elimination I was able to figure it out. You’ll definitely need someone to help you with the way the screws and nuts are placed. Frustrating! This cage is completely impractical. There is at least a one-inch gap between the plastic tray and the cage's sides, causing food and droppings to spill everywhere. We've been forced to place a long pillowcase underneath it like a makeshift diaper while we search for a permanent solution or consider returning the cage. We specifically purchased this cage for its interactive skyline door, but ironically, the interactive toys terrify our birds and discourage them from returning inside and there is no other way to hang the toys. The small side doors are extremely difficult to operate, while the large sliding door is so loose that even our cat can open it with ease. The wheel locks are utterly unreliable, as they slide freely on both rugs and bare floors. Such a cute cage! Perfect for what we needed. Fits nicely into a corner of any room. Fairly easy to assemble. Main lock broke within only a couple of days of use so that was disappointing. Love it! It is a perfect size for our adopted u2. He has been living on his small cagetop (from his previous home) since we adopted him. He wouldnt go inside, so he remained in the quarantine room. We finally earned his trust, so we got him his castle to join the flock. My husband was busy, so I put it together alone. I used the top pieces to support it, so that I could get the bolts in. It worked out perfectly and took me just over an hour. My only complaint would be that AE included 5 food doors, but only 4 bowl holders to attach to those doors (and 4 bowls). Delivery was great.. I bought this gorgeous cage for our budgie. It’s perfect for a small bird. I don’t recommend for the larger and stronger birds because the wires are thin and could be possibly bent. I also would not recommend it for finches due to the bar spacing and the possibility of their tiny heads getting stuck. As another reviewer stated, it’s not a shiny silver, but great. It does appear silver in the light. I love the transparent base that allows me to see my bird even when he’s in the bottom. This cage would be large enough for a pair of parakeets. I purchased the black stand elsewhere because Wayfair only had it in white. It’s easy to assemble with no tools needed. The only improvement I can see is for the manufacturer to as another door on a lower level. The one door is up high. It’s a great cage for the money and looks absolutely gorgeous in our new home..
