In this office that features dark wood and black concrete floors the plastic chair mat was a garish slap in the face. This rug solved that problem. A nice, softer way to protect the floor and have smooth rolling experience in your wheely chair. The finish is smooth and soft to the touch. The rubber backing gripped the floor with no shifting or sliding. The pattern looks perfect in the space as well. This is way more durable and attractive than I thought it would be. I did not understand how this could be both a rug and also a surface on which a heavy desk chair could roll. It is somewhat like a giant mouse pad, with a rubber bottom that grips our hardwood floors, and a soft, cloth like surface that does not snag on my desk chair’s casters.
