Sentimental Rectangular Mirror

Features

• A patchwork of hand-cut bone covers the frame, so the surface reads as a mosaic of small pieces instead of a flat border.
• Thin lines of brass trace the inner and outer edges, sharpening the outline and catching light against the bone.
• The raised picture-frame profile lifts the border off the wall, so the mirror casts a soft shadow and gains dimension.
• Hanging works horizontally or vertically, letting the same mirror move from above a sideboard to above a dresser as rooms change.
• Bone is a natural material, so marking and texture vary across the frame and between mirrors, which is the point rather than the problem.
