I've never purchased new flatware, always had some hand-me-downs which was just fine because it never mattered. But I saw these, loved the look and purchased them. Silly me thought I was getting 5 place settings but I actually got 5 pieces. Doesn't matter, they are sleek and pretty and I get to use them and the rest of the family can use the others.. Nancy. Pricey but worth it! I searched and searched for flatware NOT MADE IN CHINA! It was very difficult! Most familiar names (and those that used to be associated with quality) are not made in America anymore. For example: Reed and Barton, Onida, Lenox, Micasa, Kate Spade. The quality of these aforementioned brands has decreased dramatically. I would have loved to buy American: yet, I only found one company aptly named Liberty. However, they did not carry a style to my liking. This product is made in Italy and made well. . Sheryl. MD. Sun Aug 16 2020

Designed in 1938 and presented in silver at the 1940 Triennale, the collection series of cutlery - an excellent example of “Lombard classicism” in design - won praise from Gio Ponti for the balance it struck between an image of craftsmanship and the industrial future of household objects. Since 1990, thanks to an agreement after extensive philological research to complete the series with the missing pieces, the collection has been reissued in 18/10 stainless steel and in 925/00 silver for the brand.

This set is absolutly beautiful and a delight to hold in my hand. The knife has an edge on it that is sharp enough to cut easily with. The small spoon is very small but is so balanced that it is comfortable in my hand, and I have large hands. I purchased the set with the 3 tongs on the fork and is very pleasing to look at.
