When you get to the part where you attach an inner ring to the outer legs, we used the large box it came in to hold it in place by placing it under the metal pieces- which balanced it and held it in place while you screw in place.. These are beautiful, comfortable and well-made chairs. However, we are giving a 4 star rating because, although the chairs are on the pricey side, they were a lot of work to assemble.
