Turned out nice. Had this professionally installed and mounted the post in concrete blocks to give more stability. The metal pieces itself is lightweight aluminum but when connected together it’s sturdy. Only gripe are the shade connector poles. Their means of connecting could be improved because they slide off & disconnect from one another every now & then but so far holds up well with rain when shade is pulled back. Haven’t experienced any serious windy conditions yet to speak on so we’ll see. So far overall all good.. Bryant. Miami, FL. Thu Jun 01 2023

PURPLE LEAF 10' x 12' Outdoor Retractable Pergola with String Lights

It was perfect. Aluminum so it won't rust. The curtain moves easily open and close. It did take two people 6 hours to build, but I love it.. Anonymous. Sun Aug 25 2024

Outdoor pergolas suit gardens, terraces, and balconies, and can be decorated with lights, nets, or curtains. Made of powder-coated aluminum with a UV-protective PC canopy, they keep your space cool and comfortable.

So…I was super excited to get this - and I do love the amount of shade it provides outside of our unit behind our home. Initially, we put it up against our house, but it’s not an exact fit for our back deck, so we moved it to the extended portion of our lot, where we have a couple of buildings; I like it much better out there. My husband put it together, and did say that it is labor intensive, and even more so if you jump in without reading the instructions first - so he highly recommended reading the instructions before getting started. Also; you definitely want to secure it to a building or something - it is heavy enough, but probably not so heavy that a hard windstorm might not send it packing. We have ours mounted, so no worries. We both love the look of it. It is sleek, and good for the price.. Kathryn. Whiteville, NC. Wed Jan 21 2026

We'd been talking about adding some shade to our patio for a while and almost bought a gazebo. My father-in-law suggested a pergola because it would keep the backyard feeling more open. My wife also loved that it has built-in warm lighting. We ordered the 10×13 and it arrived in five boxes with nothing missing or damaged. My sons and I spent about six hours putting it together. The louvers took the longest, but everything fit together well. We've already had a few dinners outside, and opening the louvers in the evening while the weather cools down has become my favorite part of the day.. Aaron Rork. Thu Jul 16 2026

The lean-to design attaches securely to your wall, offering efficient space use without the need for freestanding structures. Complete with integrated solar lighting for added ambiance, this pergola is ideal for relaxing, dining, or entertaining outdoors.

We bought the 20x12 to go over our back patio. The house has an eave so we measured and confirmed the stated height of the pergola would fit under the eave. The pergola ended up being several inches higher than the specs. I think 103 inches high when it was complete. Because of this, my husband had to buy a new blade to cut the rear poles several inches He also has to drill new holes. This worked out well but took several hours to address. The instructions aren’t great but we were able to follow them with minimal errors. Putting all the poles together was tedious but to be expected for this size project. Actually raising the pieces and attaching them to make the frame was not very difficult and we were easily able to accomplish it with three people. We had a downpour a day after putting it up, and only one spot has a drop, so I would say it’s pretty water tight. My husband doesn’t love that the roof isn’t opaque, so we may end up painting it. We’ll see. Other than the height issue, I’m pretty pleased with the quality for the price. I think it will last at least several years and give us time to decide if we want to do something more permanent back there.. Rachel. Alpharetta, GA. Mon Aug 10 2026
