When you get to the part where you attach an inner ring to the outer legs, we used the large box it came in to hold it in place by placing it under the metal pieces- which balanced it and held it in place while you screw in place.. This is a lovely table! It’s high quality and fairly heavy duty. It mounts in the middle and holds the two halves together. It did take awhile to assemble and required a lot of wrenching and tightening and adjusting to get just right. I like the wood grain look and expect it to stay in good shape for years to come.. This is a nice table that is simple to assemble. I really like how easy it is to extend. The leaf stores inside in the middle. The table is beautiful and very sturdy. Assembly was a bit challenging as a few pilot holes were not aligned well so we had to manually adjust.
