We are very happy with our Backyard Discovery Beaumont 14x12 pergola! The only negative would be the time it took to arrive, which was about six weeks. Otherwise, it is very well made and looks beautiful. You need at least three people to put together. Fortunately, we had four grown men who are in construction for a living so it was pretty painless, but it did take about three hours.. Amy. West Richland, WA. Sun Jun 14 2026

We bought the 20x12 to go over our back patio. The house has an eave so we measured and confirmed the stated height of the pergola would fit under the eave. The pergola ended up being several inches higher than the specs. I think 103 inches high when it was complete. Because of this, my husband had to buy a new blade to cut the rear poles several inches He also has to drill new holes. This worked out well but took several hours to address. The instructions aren’t great but we were able to follow them with minimal errors. Putting all the poles together was tedious but to be expected for this size project. Actually raising the pieces and attaching them to make the frame was not very difficult and we were easily able to accomplish it with three people. We had a downpour a day after putting it up, and only one spot has a drop, so I would say it’s pretty water tight. My husband doesn’t love that the roof isn’t opaque, so we may end up painting it. We’ll see. Other than the height issue, I’m pretty pleased with the quality for the price. I think it will last at least several years and give us time to decide if we want to do something more permanent back there.. Rachel. Alpharetta, GA. Mon Aug 10 2026

I hired a landscaper to assemble and install the pergola. Keep in mind that assembly is not installation. The pergola requires appropriate attachment of the four columns to a footing to prevent movement of the columns. Took two weeks to get an assembly PDF and video from Wayfair. I will return to this review to provide an assembly and installation update. May, 26 UPDATE: Disappointed. Poorly constructed of thin, weak metal. I had a local steel fabrication shop make custom footing brackets because the stock footing brackets are weak, paper-thin, poor quality, not offering any assurance that the pergola would stand up to any wind. The pergola instructions claim assembly time is 1.5 hours. For us, from the time starting with unboxing the parts to the final drilling and anchoring the pergola was 4 hours. Would not buy again.. No matter how you use a pergola, it will transform your outdoor space into a beautiful oasis.

This pergola does not have a rail under the beam as shown in the photos. Very misleading. First photo is what we thought we were buying (from the Wayfair listing). Second photo is the pergola assembled on our deck. Also - the lights are poor quality (not worth the increase in price) and don't actually work. The pergola itself is fine and relatively easy to assemble.. Mairi. Salt Spring Island, BC. Wed May 07 2025
