Sturdy and kid friendly, BUT the handle doesn't truly work as designed. The top goes up and down manually, but not via the handle as the wire doesn't attach concretely enough and snapped off. Also be mindful to know which screws you are using throughout the building process as they look similar but are slightly different for different stages and I merely lucked out using the correct ones. (Also there is no bottom so we used a piece of carpet so ants wouldnt set up shop in the sand, alternatively you could probably use a piece of plywood).
