Sun Pottery Classic Bird Bath has a unique, strong, locking device (not plastic). All Alcott Hill® glazed pottery and bird baths are fired in gas kilns. These are significantly more environmentally friendly than the large, standard, wood-fired "Dragon" kilns used by most of Alcott Hill® competitors. The "Dragon" kilns burn a huge amount of rubber wood at each firing which is very bad for the environment and doesn't provide even firing for the product. Love the mosaic design and color. The size of the bowl is perfect for my solar (disc) water fountain. The only reason it’s not a 5 star is the stand is a little jerky and the bowl doesn’t sit on it evenly although it’s on a flat, even surface.
