The birdbath is beautiful! However, it is very light weight. I had to fill it with water and use grounding stakes to hold it down…just happened to be a very windy day when I received it. We suggest that birdbath/fountain tops not be left outside in the winter. Once the top fills with water/snow and freezes, the top may crack. All birdbath/fountain bases, bench legs, and statuary should be raised up off the ground in winter so it will not freeze to the ground surface. Ideally, a fountain should be stored indoors in the winter away from the elements. However, if a fountain bowl must be left outside, remove all pumps, rubber stoppers, drain pipes, finials, and small components, and cover the top with burlap or any absorbent material (old blanket/towel) and then wrapped with dark plastic, making sure that water does not accumulate in the basin and freeze. Fountain pumps, finials, and other small components should be stored indoors. Check the fountain periodically to ensure that the cover is secure and water is not accumulating in any fountain component.

I purchased one of these for my garden. It was so pretty, that I ordered a 2nd one. The birds love it. As added benefit, because it is very shallow at the edges, if its not filled completely the honeybees are able to drink from it too, without drowning. I like the size of this resin birdbath. I like the overall look. I like that it simply twists in place together without the need for screws and hardware. I like the height of it. It comes with 3 little anchors but I found that these do barely anything to keep it actually in place (despite different placement options) as it just easily pulls right out of the ground, so I ended up using those 3, PLUS 4 of my own of a different style, and that hopefully holds up to the winds we can get in this area. Also, I don't know if the "Made In China" paint is safe for the birds, so hopefully it doesn't peel off easily or anything. My piece also came with a small defect on the pole.
