I’m not sure if it’s necessary , but we will spray the base with a rust prevention since they are going outside and only partially protected/covered. These teak barstools are very nice. A few problems putting together. Holes misaligned, and a screw was stripped, etc. My husband was able to overcome the issues but it took 3 hours to assemble 4 stools.
