Black bamboo has culms that are green when they first emerge from the ground, and within months they acquire the natural black color with dark-brown patches that give this bamboo a beautiful, rich, appearance. The culms of this bamboo are used extensively in Japanese woodworking and are excellent for indoor and outdoor decoration. Our Timor black timber bamboo poles come in an average of 2-3 inches in diameter. They are made up of a thick wall of heavy bamboo and are crack-resistant. Color and actual diameter will vary due to the natural material. We cannot guarantee a specific diameter of each pole, only that they will be between the diameter of 2-3 inches. Bamboo poles may also have different diameters at either end, this is due to the way bamboo grows.
