Features
- Juliska glass is mouth-blown by artisans in the Czech Republic. The techniques they use have been passed down through generations of skilled glassmakers. Working in teams of two and three, these artisans have perfected a seamless sequence of motions to create the finished pieces.
- The iron rod is tipped with a wad of hot glass and then applied to the base of a vessel to hold it during manufacture. It often leaves an irregular or ring-shaped scar (called a pontil mark) on the base when the pontil is removed it is seen in nearly all glasses made before the nineteenth century when glass-makers began to erase it.
- Dishwasher safe, warm, gentle cycle. Hand washing is recommended for large or highly decorated pieces. Not suitable for hot contents, freezer, or microwave use.
- Being handmade, no two pieces of Juliska are identical. Each will have its character – small bubbles and slight color and size variations. Following a series of checks, each piece of Juliska is individually signed. This hallmark is our guarantee of its origin, authenticity, and superior quality.
