To make a Wall Plates, two pieces of glass are cut, cleaned, stacked together and placed into a kiln. The kiln goes up to 1450°f, the glass becomes molten and fuses together to make one piece of glass. The glass goes to a waterjet and the plate is cut out. Then, the glass is placed onto a mold and taken to 1300°f, the glass becomes elastic and gravity pulls the glass over the mold. Hot Knobs call this process slumping. The glass spends about 48 hours in the kilns. Expect slight variations in color and size.

These are perfect for my kitchen backsplash. They enhance the cobalt blue iridescent tiles. Beautiful!. Brenda. Grand Lake, OK. Thu Oct 08 2020
