I really like this floor lamp and it was pretty easy to assemble. The instructions were not very detailed so I had to wing it on some of the steps. I bought two of these lamps for each end of my couch & I love them! They're made of mostly wood, but I was surprised the drawer was plastic. I love that they come with three wire guide clips with each lamp to help maintain the aesthetic of clean lines. The fabric shade does dim the light considerably; I love low lighting, but I had to switch from 40W bulbs to 60W because it was too dim & I might still need to find a light for the other side of the living room. For reference, I used to light my entire living room with a single lamp that used five 40W bulbs & filtered out much less light from each bulb, so I'm not surprised I'll need more than two 60W bulbs to fully light the room.
