Originally made to encase the light of a flickering flame, lanterns were first designed for function, not fashion. Today, they incorporate both. Take this lantern head for example: Crafted from metal, it features a cylindrical silhouette with molded detailing, putting a contemporary twist on a traditional construction. A wavy glass shade diffuses light from any incandescent bulb up to 100W (not included), while a wet location rating makes it perfect for your outdoor ensemble.

Similar to the topper (which is shown in this picture but not included, although I made the mistake of purchasing that too), this post is a misrepresentation of the item shipped. The listing claims this is made of plastic (which you would think means vinyl). Nope... this is made of cheap, soft wood that is poorly sanded and has dents. The manufacturer could have used wood putty to fix the dents before painting, but did not. They also nail gunned the heck out of the post after they painted it so the post has small holes all around it. Again, they could have and should have used wood putty or another filler to conceal this. I included 3 photos just to show the poor quality of the "finished" work. At the price they are charging, I would expect a much higher quality product; specially since they are claiming this is made in the USA. This purchase was a huge disappointment and extreme waste of time and money. I highly do not recommend this product to anyone.. Steve. Pasadena, CA. Sat Aug 31 2019
