I bought 2 of these and they are absolutely gorgeous! When you turn it on, the bottom will always be lit and I don't see a way you can replace the bulb if it ever goes out. The shade has a high gloss, which I wasn't expecting but I've come to like it. When turned off, it's a deep blue, when lit a soft purple. Photos illustrate the difference; there are 40W bulbs in it now though I may go for a lower wattage for an even softer look. If the colors work in your decor, don't hesitate. It's a beautiful lamp!.
