The lamp is cute, just like the pictures. In fact, SO like the pictures, because I was wondering why they showed so much bulb sticking out - well, that's just how a standard A19 bulb looks. I wish the shade was deeper, because I didn't like seeing the bulb, it's too bright directly. I tried a BR20 (for recessed lights) which was better, but I think I'm going to have to look into specialty bulb options. The socket sticks out so far, I wish they hadn't manufactured it like that. It works, but just isn't apparently designed for a standard bulb. ETA: A rollercoaster - as I prepared to recycle the box I found this ships with a little mini bulb! Mentally revised my rating! But then - it turned out to be a 6000K, egregiously cold-colored light, not like what's in the picture or what's appropriate for the vintage style.
