I have been looking for just the right pieces to enhance the area over my mantel and these fit the bill. Installation entails using two screws to apply a plate which the lights fit over. It took around four hours to charge them initially; I can't speak to how well they hold a charge as we didn't really purchase them for extra light. I'm so happy with this three color magnetic light! I'm using it for my full length mirror on the back of my door. I like to put my makeup on but need more light in that area.
