It's a VERY pretty fan. The blades are a very light gray wash look - high end. I got the Nickel finish motor. On/off via light switch and then the remote controls everything. Most fans I run at speed 1 for sleeping and that creates some air movement. But this fan doesn't push a lot of air, so i have to use speed 2 or 3 to get the same effect. This is in a guest room, which is rarely used, so that's fine for my needs. But if you need a fan that REALLY creates a breeze in a room, this is NOT the one. (Minus a star for that).. Tamara954. We bought 3 fans, 3 different sizes. We have installed 1 of them at this point. The fan has a simple, clean style. It works well, cools the room on low speed. We like the adjustable light. We like the look, it is a nice improvement over the outdated fan We had. I gave it 4 stars because the remote and our switch are not compatible. We will leave the switch on and only use the remote..
